2014 KINGPIN CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Massive velvety Cabernet Sauvignon from Klipsun, Kiona and Obelisco Vineyards on Red Mountain and a touch of high elevation Olsen Vineyard Petit Verdot provide Kingpin with its hedonistic richness, depth and power. An expansive nose of dark chocolate, black currants, black cherry, black plum, violets, cigar box and cedar drives this beauty to a flavor bonanza of black fruits, mocha, cinnamon and minerals. Built to deliver the goods in its youth and to evolve beautifully for decades.
FOUNDERS’ NOTES:
Launched in 2006, Kingpin celebrates the raw power and intensity of Red Mountains's iconic Klipsun Vineyard. Although we have no definitive conclusion on its ultimate life span due to the fact that we have only made it for 10 years or so and have none even beginning to peak, we suspect this is a wine that can be enjoyed for at least 30 years, if not many more.
