Our 2021 Outlaw leads with a nose of blackberries, cherries, earth, mocha, baking spices and a smooch of sweet vanilla, leading to gobs of rich black plum, cassis, blackberry and Valrhona chocolate, all framed by high thread count silky tannins. Scrumptious today and destined to evolve for a generation, at least.
Food Pairing: Lamb burgers with boursin or eggplant and porcini Shepherd’s pie.

FOUNDERS’ NOTES:
One of the Three Original Wines, Outlaw was a single barrel of merlot from Hedges Vineyard in 2004. The wine was made to honor Kelly's Dad who suggested that we start a family business when we found out we were going to be parents. Outlaw is not necessarily produced in every vintage, having been released from 2004-2007, 2009, and 2014-2015. Because merlot is so damn delicious, we think the producers of the movie Sideways are on their way to hell.
