GSMs have been around since the ancient Australians of the 1980s (though the French and Spanish may have something to say about that), but we have never done one. Until now. Grenache is a crazy, multi-personalitied thing: Garnacha in Spain, Cannonau in Sardinia, a main component in Gigondas in the Rhône. Similarly, Syrah sings a local song, and in this blend its bass notes deepen and amplify the other varietals. Mourvèdre, new to our program in 2022, is its own beast, full of electricity and spice. Together they are much more than the sum of their individual selves. Greater Than Some is loaded with brambly rhubarb, wild strawberries, roguish raspberries, cardamom and other funky baking spices, a hint of sweet vanilla and a beautiful tension that promises to evolve over time…a long, long time.
