Tasting notes
Ruckus v. 2022 is a wild beasty from Red Mountain’s iconic Ciel du Cheval Vineyard. Loaded with rich, dark black fruit and aromas of smokey game, forest floor and mineral, it is replete with flavors of loganberry, black cherry, bay leaf, and sweet oak. Dyn-O-Mite today, it is guaranteed to deliver good times for oodles of years.
Food pairing: Classic French country cassoulet, vegetarian Shepherd’s pie
Movie pairing: Pulp Fiction
FOUNDERS’ NOTES:
Once upon a time there was a Syrah called Stella Mae. As demand for Syrah began to taper off a bit, we decided in our third vintage to align our girls' wines on either side of the Gironde, even though it is nowhere near Woodinville, in the name of family harmony. So, in 2006, we made Ruckus, our Red Mountain Syrah blended with Cabernet Sauvignon.

"A near equal blend of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2022’ Ruckus’ has evolved to being more like a Provence-inspired blend. The palate is fresh and smooth with serious texture and tension, showing loads of mouth-watering acidity. Heady dark fruits combine with espresso grounds and shades of scorched earth. Drink 2025-2037"

"Labeled simply ‘Red Wine’ this is a lovely example of this perfect matchup between these two grapes. There is a huge core of ripe and pretty fruits - berries and cherries, blood oranges, pears and baked apples. It’s buoyed with well-matched acids, and finishes with touches of baking spices, candied oranges, mashed bananas and yes, pipe tobacco. Smooth, even soft, and lush all the way through."
