Tasting notes
2020 Stella Mae, our Cabernet Sauvignon driven classic left bank blend, (patterned after some of our favorite Bordeaux houses (Mouton, Lafite, Latour, Margaux, Lynch Bages) offers with aromas of blackberries, roses, baking spice, and vanilla, rolling into delicious flavors of black currant, fig, mocha, roasted herbs, and crushed stone. Rich and supple, but firm and structured, this elegant beauty will develop and evolve for a veeeeeery long time.
Food pairing: Porcini mushroom risotto, Duck confit with roasted veggies
Movie pairing: Streetcar Named Desire
FOUNDERS’ NOTES:
Stella Mae is our first collaborative creation and our secret genius, covertly molding our family through deep reflection and a thirst for knowledge and artistic expression. A syrah for the 2004 and 2005 vintages, Stella Mae became a cabernet sauvignon focused classic Bordeaux blend in 2006, as we sought to align the girls' wines in the name of peace and harmony at the kitchen table. Like our daughter, each vintage of Stella Mae is a classic, lovely and vibrant in its youth and undoubtedly astounding in its evolution.

"The 2020 Sparkman ‘Stella Mae’ Red Wine from Columbia Valley, composed of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Malbec, spends 19 months in 100% new French oak, resulting in a wine of remarkable depth and character. Its nose opens with a burst of vibrant blue fruits, gradually revealing layers of dried scorched herbs, star anise, sandalwood, black cherry liqueur, and a touch of cinnamon spice. On the palate, the wine showcases sweet, polished tannins that provide a smooth texture, while the elevated acidity keeps it bright and balanced. The finish lingers gracefully, with a beautiful interplay of fruit and spice, making it a compelling and refined red blend. A little over 200 cases produced. Drink 2024-2032."

"Filled with generous blueberry and blackberry flavors, the wine is wrapped in extra-plush tannins that show the influence of 22% malbec blended into the 78% cabernet sauvignon. Woodsy, peppery, earthy accents give a distinct expression. Drink or hold."
